We had one rest day at Srinagar and our photo shoot was pending-Yes, the traditional photo in Kashmiri dress. We were charged Rs. 100 for the photos along with the kashmiri traditional dress in a Shikara. Then we were planning to go to Pampore, Saffron fields but after inquiring with few locals, we came to know that we would not get to see any saffron plantations since this was not the right season for the same. We then proceeded to Kukar bazaar in Lal Chowk to buy Walnuts and kashmiri spices. We bought Walnuts from Jasco Jasbir Fruit Co. (Mr Jasdeep Singh is the owner, phone:01942475478) at Rs. 240/kg. Also bought few kgs of Apple at Rs. 40/kg. We had dinner at Nathu Sweets near Dal Lake. The pastries and pizzas were really nice. We then bought few shawls from Lal Chowk and other shops for Rs. 100 onwards per shawl. Friendly Tip: Bargain heavily, we usually bought shawls and stoles for 20-30% of the quoted price.
