Nestled among the majestic hills of western ghats is Jawhar, famed for its Warli paintings, Tarpa dance and Dhol music. It is the Sahyadri’s best kept secret. This hill-town, tucked away in the remote part of Palghar district in Maharashtra, is easy to access, just 2.5 hrs drive from Mumbai and Nashik. The bungalow can accommodate maximum upto 15 persons.
We are promoting rural tourism in Jawhar, where urban tourists can experience the village life, participate in activities in the village such as seasonal activities like paddy cultivation, re-planting paddy, ploughing the field, star gazing etc to doing a warli workshop or social activities like teaching the school kids or play with them.
Bungalow Amenities:
1) Small kitchen – toaster, water heater, induction cooker. We do not encourage lunch / dinner cooking in this place, but you can make breakfast like tea/coffee, boil milk, fry an egg etc.
2) We have an electric BBQ set – the guests have to get their own ingredients.
3) Parking available.
4) Plates / glasses etc are available for upto 15 people.
5) Geysers in bathrooms for hot water.
Tariff: Rs. 2,000 per person per night with pure veg meals, 1 breakfast, 2 lunches, and 1 dinner will be provided.
Please note: The rooms have no Air conditioners. Alcohol / music is allowed, but in moderation. We do not have any restrictions on the sleeping time of the guests but the noise levels have to be maintained as we are in the rural settings and we do not want to attract undue attention.

Places of Tourist Attraction:
Jaivilas Palace: The palace was build by Raje Yashwant Rao Maukne. The stone used was brought from Kalidhond which is 5 km away from its location. It is said that when the work of palace was completed, the quarry from which the stone was extracted was broken down and now the Geological Department of Government of India has taken up to locate the quarry. The palace is a master piece of pink stone. There is a beautiful garden with a dense forest like foliage, having trees of cashew nut everywhere.
Dabhosa waterfalls: Dabhosa- Dadarkopara -waterfall is only 18 km away from on jawhar – Talasari – Silvasa Road. This waterfall is on Lendi River and on other side of river at sarsun there is Dadarkopara Waterfall. The dadarkopara fall is dry during summer there is also known as suka (Dry) fall. The height of water fall is 300 feet from lendi river first the water comes in flask shaped rock & again from there it comes in 5 feet by 5 feet flask shaped open natural container. Both the sides of waterfall are surround by straight mountains of height not less than 600 feet and are covered with medical plants.
Jai Sagar Dam: Built in 1956 by the Royal Family,this dam is silent witness to the royal family’s dedication for their subject’s well being.One cannot forget the entire cost of building this dam was borne by the royal family,even after their royal facilities were discontinued by the government.
Kalmandvi Waterfalls: The waterfall is about 100 metres in height and there is flow throughout the year, and not just during the monsoons. Its a must visit place for trekking enthusiasts.
