3 Idiots movie trip. Early morning it snowed on the nearby peaks, hence it was very cool. Started at 8:30 am, visited the 3 Idiots movie point. We reached Leh at 2:00 pm. On the way visit Thiksey Monastery, big and majestic. Thiksey is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery of the Yellow Hat sect, located on top of a hill, approximately 19 kilometers east of Leh. It is noted for its resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet, and is the largest gompa in central Ladakh. The monastery is located at an altitude of 3,600 meters (11,800 ft) in the Indus valley. It is a 12-story complex and houses many items of Buddhist art such as stupas, statues, thangkas, wall paintings, and swords. One of the main points of interest is the Maitreya (future Buddha) Temple which has the largest such statue in Ladakh, covering two stories of the building. The food was nice at the cafe in the monastery. In the evening, were enjoying the last stroll in the market and took few snaps on a bullet. Sadly, all good things come to an end, so did our last day at Leh.
