Common Home Agonda beach Goa

Common Home Agonda beach, Goa is located within walking distance from the beach. Common Home Agonda have friendly and courteous staff ready to help wherever possible. Also, a number of Italian, Indian, Goan restaurants serving delectable regional and international cuisines are located within walking distance of their resort.

The beach is famous as a Olive Ridley Turtle nesting site. These animals are endangered. Please keep the noise level and the lights down at night at the beach to give them a chance to nest. The Panchayat ( village administration) is very invested in not allowing Agonda to become another overcrowded Palolem. Anything you can do to minimize waste, save water or electricity will be much appreciated since the village is struggling to avoid environmental degradation and preserve it’s beauty for the next generation.

Places of Tourist Attraction Near Agonda Beach Goa:

Cabo De Rama Fort: This is one of the oldest forts in Goa, built before the arrival of the Portuguese. With the historic significance related with its name, Cabo De Rama has a mythological legend. Lord Rama accompanied by his wife Sita took refuge here during his exile from Ayodhya for 14 years. Inside the Cabo De Rama Fort, there is the church of Santo Antonio which is in excellent condition and is still used by devotees. The white church and the black fort provide a photographic picture of stark contrast.

People come here to pray and just enjoy the mystical atmosphere of the fort. Cliffs drop steeply to the sea provide a panoramic outlook of the surrounding areas, at the western side of the fortress. The fort provides majestic views of the entire length of Colva beach and the Canacona stretch.

Palolem beach: Palolem beach is a natural bay surrounded by lofty headlands on either sides, resulting in a calm, idyllic sea with a gently sloping bed which allows you to walk up to 100 m out from the beach.

The beach is largely unspoiled and is inhabited by both local fishermen and by foreign tourists who live in shacks along the shore or in the main village itself. It is about 1.61 km long and is crescent-shaped – one can view the whole beach from either end. Both ends of the beach consist of rocks jutting out into the sea. The depth of the sea increases gradually, it being shallowest at the northern ends of the beach, making it safe for average swimmers, and the currents are not fast.

Butterfly beach: It is a tiny beach cove that lies just to the north of Palolem beach. The sands here are perfectly white and the water translucent. There is no access to the beach by road since the area is heavily forested. One can take a 2 hour trek through the forest. No vehicles, not even bikes can make the trip through the forest since the road takes one through brooks, steep climbs, fields and forested areas.

Blue Planet cafe – one of Goa’s best vegetarian, vegan and health food restaurants. Family run organic vegetarian vegan cafe in a beautiful natural setting. Very friendly staff serving great healthy wholesome food. Fantastic juices and smoothies. Vegan cakes and deserts.

Romance – The food is slightly overpriced, but it’s clean and tasty and the owners will let you sit there all day on a meal. The banana porridge is pretty good. They also have very nice and colorful (and nice inside) shacks they rent out.
